My large oil painting, study for 'Hotel du Monde' (1070 x 1470 mm), is on show in the touring New Light Art Prize Exhibition. I hope this painting successfully conveys my feelings of wonder at the lives of others - imagined private lives with fleeting and indistinct events in small simple rooms . . . all making for exciting visual arenas.

The New Light Art Prize is a marvellous biennial exhibition set up to show, to best advantage, the  work of artists in the north of England and it tours to some of our finest galleries. 

The exhibition opened in September 2023 at the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum, Birkenhead. In 2024 it travels south to Bankside Gallery, Southbank, London (26 Feb - 3 March) then comes closer to (my) home to Rheged, Penrith, Cumbria (14 March - 2 June) before travelling east to The Biscuit Factory, Newcastle upon Tyne (22 June - mid September) and finally to the Mercer Art Gallery, Harrogate (12 Oct - 31 Dec.)
