My large oil painting study for 'Hotel du Monde'  (1070 x 1470 mm) will be showing in The New Light Art Prize Exhibition. I hope this painting successfully carries my feelings of wonder at the lives of others - the depiction of imagined private lives with fleeting and indistinct events in small simple rooms . . . all making for exciting visual arenas.

The New Light Art Prize is a marvellous biennial exhibition set up to show, to best advantage, the work of artists in the north of England and it tours to some of our finest galleries: 

This year the opening venue will be the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum, Birkenhead (29th September - 22 December 2023). In 2024 it travels south to Bankside Gallery, Southbank, London (26 Feb - 3 Mar) then it comes closer to (my) home at Rheged, Penrith, Cumbria (14 March - 2 June) before going east to The Biscuit Factory, Newcastle upon Tyne (22 June - mid September) and finally to The Mercer Art Gallery, Harrogate (12 Oct - 31 Dec).
